Exact replacement

New manufacturer (Fasco) but same specs made this a simple swap, the motor was a perfect fit and the wiring was color coded the same. I did need to supply my own zip-ties for cable management and it didn’t come with any instructions.

Like new!

After seventeen years the motor decided it wanted to retire. Ordered a replacement from BonAire ~ delivery was prompt, installation a tiny bit challenging (required an extra cup o' coffee) but not difficult.

Three things:

1) Dismounting the "venturi" was the most difficult part - it was stuck fast. (This is the large "tunnel" that houses the motor and fan assembly). After removing the ten screws, I used a long, slender rod inserted between the front louvers, placed it on each motor mount bracket in turn, and gave a couple of whacks with a hammer. That worked, and it backed right out. Replacing required a few corner wacks with a rubber mallet.

2) For some reason the plastic box containing the switch and electrical connections decided it would flex and not allow the control switch shaft to line up with its hole in the front of the cooler. I resolved this by cutting a 70 mm piece of PVC pipe and fitting behind the box to hold it firmly in place - easy peasy!

3) TAKE PICTURES! The wiring is not complicated at all, but a few quick pictures before removing the old motor wiring sure made installation a snap.

I do like this machine! Our area is dry and HOT, and it works quite well.
